HOW TO REGAIN THE LOST FOCUS?
In case you tend to lose focus, then, train your mind to go through 5 foundations of thinking:
[01] ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ธ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ด๐ผ๐ฎ๐น, sooner you will gain focus! Itโs like a deft carpenter or their apprentice whoโd knock out or extract a large peg with a finer peg.
[02] Despite your efforts to overcome negative, non-supportive thoughts keep coming, ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต๐๐: โSo these thoughts are unskillful, theyโre blameworthy, and they wonโt help you to achieve your goals.โ As you do so, those bad thoughts are given up and come to an end.
[03] Now, suppose that you are examining the drawbacks of those negative, non-supportive thoughts, but bad, unskillful thoughts that donโt support your goals keep coming up. ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ถ๐ด๐ป๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐บ.. As you do so, those bad thoughts are given up and come to an end. You mind become focused in your goals. Suppose, some undesirable sights came into your range of vision. Youโd just close their eyes or look away. In the same way, if you are focused โฆ you should give up such negative thoughts to regain focus.
[04] Now, suppose that you are ignoring and forgetting about those thoughts, but negative, non-supportive thoughts that donโt support your goals keep coming up. ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฐ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐ป๐ฒ๐ด๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต๐๐.
[05] Now, suppose that you are focusing on stopping the formation of thoughts, but bad, unskillful thoughts that donโt support your goals keep coming up. ๐ช๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ต ๐ฐ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐บ๐ผ๐๐๐ต, ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐น๐ฑ ๐๐พ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐พ๐๐ฎ๐๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ. As you do so, those bad thoughts are given up and come to an end. You gain focus. Itโs like a strong man who grabs a weaker man by the head or throat or shoulder and squeezes, squashes, and tortures them. In the same way, a you โฆ with teeth clenched and tongue pressed against the roof of the mouth, should squeeze, squash, and torture mind with mind.
As you do above, those bad thoughts are given up and come to an end. You regain your focus!
